There are mixed opinions out there..Ive been dealing with those thoughts for a long time, thinking im due and the cups are causing vibrations/shakes etc... Ive inspected them several times and have no wear! Maybe a slight change in color in certain areas but zero signs of a "ridge" forming(dimples)..Ive been fighting a front end shimmy/shakes for this whole past summer. Finally, i was lucky enough to have a conversation with a long time Saab mechanic. He said he never had to replace a driver/cup on the drivers side. Take that for what its worth. I have seen pics of worn Saab cups, and not sure how they got worn. If the boots are never run cracked, split etc and have the proper grease in there, they shoudl last a long time. My car has about 170-180 k miles on it and a bunch of those miles are with Stage 3 power. This mechanic did say he has seen differential bushing issues on the 5 speeds; which has been discussed on here
