I took my car into cdn tire to have the front bearing replaced..
The mechanic took the wheel off and then called me for a conversation.
Told me that they would have to use a torch and heat to get the control arm off and as a resut the ball jointnwoukd get damged , so i would need a new control arm, as well as the stanchion arm and that the steering knuckle would probably get damaged as well as the strut.
I declined the repair and headed off after he put the wheel back on.
Seemed to me to be quite involved for the replacement of a wheel bearing.
Is this normal, I didn't think so..but would like some input.
