Folks,

I've had to replace the left front fender liner on a 2000 Viggen after a bad encounter with a curb. I could not get the new fender liner to fit....until I noticed that there are tabs on the fender liner that need to be cut off to enable the fender liner to fit over the tabs on the outer lip of the fender.

I've looked here and in my Haynes book, and I can't find any instruction to this effect. So....learn from my experience. Where the finder liner fits over each tap on the finder lip, you will see a recessed area flaked by two tabs. At least one of the tabs is free at the bottom. You will need to trim off both of these two flanking tabs to enable the recessed area to fit over the tab on the fender lip.

In case you are wondering, yes, the new fender liner is SAAB OEM.

When in doubt, look at the other fender for clues, assuming that its fender liner is in place. Patience and attention to detail are your best friends.
