I use a 12mm wrench to crack loose the bolt with pump bolted down. Then I remove the three water pump bolts and then I use a 12mm 1/4" socket and short extension to reach in under and extract the banjo bolt.
Since the water pump is loose, I can lift it slightly to get the socket and extension in under there.
Putting it back together, it is absolutely crucial to start with the copper washers and banjo bolt after the pump is inserted in place but before you install the three bolts.
That way you can lift the pump and get the bolt and washers in there using a needle nose pliers and maybe a magnet.
Not easy but doable.
When the water pump is bolted down, I tighten the banjo bolt with the wrench.
The 9-3 is worse than the 9-5 due to the routing of A/C pipes.
