The weather has been gorgeous all day, the first Saturday of the Spring so blessed. So naturally I have been busy de-thatching the lawn, bringing summer furniture out of storage, doing the start of season tune-up on the lawn mower, etc.
I did have time for a short 6 mile top down drive to the Recycle Center to get rid of the used oil from my last four oil changes. Remarkably the new tires seem to ride more comfortably than the six year old Michelin All-Seasons on the 16-inch SE rims. I wasn't expecting this, and it might be all in my imagination, but the new wheel & tire combination felt great!
As far as the Saab-Scania wheel inserts, I was torn for a while as to what to do. My rear deck badge is missing 10-15% of its enamel and new ones are rare as hen's teeth. In light of this I bought four wheel insert stickers picturing only the Saab Griffin, I also bought a completely bare rear deck emblem (what's crazier, someone selling one or me buying it?) and a matching Griffin only sticker for it.
I have since found a Saab fan in Australia, where the last five remaining new Saab-Scania curved rear deck emblems exist for use on the 1995 through 2000 convertibles. We negotiated pricing and one of these last five remaining new emblems is now headed my way! With a new Saab-Scania emblem soon to be mounted on the rear deck I have to use Saab-Scania wheel inserts!
