More parts needed............ Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Every time I do any maintenance work on my Viggen I discover more poor & cheap maintenance that was performed in the past. Yesterday's list includes:
- One bushing for securing front badge, one is there but not the other.
- One stud and nut for holding the down-pipe to the turbo-charger exhaust port. A small diameter bolt and nut was used to replace one of the studs.
- Left side inner fender, the plastic piece. Mine is broken
- Left side splash tray beneath the car which helps secure the inner fender. Mine is missing. Gee, I wonder if this is why the inner fender is shattered?
Yes the car is 15 years old, but it only has 70K miles, or 4K miles per year, and was adult owned. At least one of the previous owners used a real bozo for maintenance - maybe themselves. The six year old all season 16-inch tires that I removed two weeks ago had one tire that was nearly wore out while the other three look almost new. The worn tire was not on the right front, the wheel that would spin (I think) with excessive acceleration.
Is this evidence of one bad Michelin tire out of a set of four? One tire affected by advancing age when the other three were not? Tire abuse by a previous owner that was then moved to a different corner? One older tire and three newer ones? (this would match the other cheap tricks I have discovered!)
