My road was a bit different. I purchased a greddy external boost contr unit, with an external sol valve. the diff between mine and the hallman, is electronics. The greddy utlizies its own bpc valve, and is more precise on the psi. It also gives you a choice of 2 settings low boost which could be set for everyday driving say around 8 psi, and a high boost setting so you can max out... the diff is about $300.00. Having owned a 9000 2.0l t
the changes would be very similar for 900 & 9000 with the exception of the air filter. Although i have used a cone element forboth cars with extensions away from the motor, so you dont suck up heat (although i can honestly say here in ny i havent noticed a diff as far as temp is concerned)you might be better off extending your element (it connects into the turbo right?)into the space of the 1/4 panel without the box.
and as the saying goes what comes in must go out, make sure to get a sport exhaust from the cat back. The intercooler i dont know about on a 9000, it might be possible to fit a aero type of IC from a 9000 on yours, check the specs if possible deffinetly do it!
put it all together and you have a great performance package for way less than an abbott mod. I think i can speak for dean that the benefits of adding a external boost controler are great, considering the price..
good luck
andreas
