Hello,
I am Bernie. I currently have several Saab's. The newest one to make it back on the road is a 2003 9-3 Convertible. It has the appearance package of the the Viggen including the seats when Saab/GM was busy using up the leftover pieces. I bought it with a failing sludge engine so it is now powered by a 2007 B235R. I have also installed the T7 I was running in a previous B235R powered 9-3 so it it moves pretty good. Suppose to be 290 hp and 320 torque. Never had it dyno'd though. It shows 78k on the odometer.
I also have 2002 9-5 Linear I got with a bad engine that is using the B235R in my previous 9-3. It shows 106k on the odometer but the engine is at approx 190k. It works just fine.
I also have a 1993 900 convertible with 132k on it. I bought it with a bad head gasket and fixxed it up 3 years ago. I have put 18k on it since I got it.
And my other current Saab is a 2007 9-3 that I recently bought with bent valves and broken rockers. I have not dug into it yet to find the cause of this destruction. I plan on getting another engine for it soon and getting it on the road.
As far as past Saab's I have owned I don't have the exact count but it is around 30.
I was a Saab dealer tech for over 15 years and have worked at a european specialty shop for the last 5 years. In the last month I have worked on cars from the following makes Saab, Ferrari, Porsche, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Mini, Bentley, Aston Martin, MG, Triumph, Sunbeam and a Chevrolet Corvair.
So there is a little about me. And when it comes to sports it all about hockey. I am lucky enough to live in Pittsburgh so I root for the current Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. And I was at Mario Lemieux's home debut back in 1984. Good Luck, Bernie
