I'm driving around with a check engine light that is on and off sporadically and very low coolant gauge temperature levels (only goes up when I idle). have not had the code read yet.
on that, what's a good tester to buy, what specification is needed for these cars to read and erase codes?
anyway, was stopped with engine running and noticed my engine fan was running full speed, despite coolant temp being almost non existent.
I know I need to swap in a new thermostat and coolant temp sensor, but the engine fan running at cold temp has me stumped.
do these cars have a thermo switch in the radiator to control fan speed that I should also perhaps swap out? could it be something else?
I have the ACC on ECON so its not the A/C system telling the fan to run, I'd hope!
Thanks,
Wayne
