Did the ABS activate while monitoring wheel speed? Mitchell's shows troubleshooting steps when codes are generated. One that does not generate a code is a defective brake switch but can't say that would cause your symptom. What about a failing wheel bearing, loose wheel sensor or toothed wheel? Or cleaning the connector pins to the ABS? Try to squeeze a code out of that thing 😉
Found this on the web: On these older systems with passive sensors, the cure for false activation is to clean the tip of the wheel speed sensor, inspect the tone ring and adjust the air gap. This typically fixes the problem.
