That was me... and I'll be the first to say that it WON'T be easy to fix the "missing lines" syndrome because it essentially happens when the surface mounted ribbon cable connections work themselves loose. Resoldering this back in place is not gonna be simple and you could easily screw up the whole unit.
Now having warned you sufficiently, try opening the SID, connect it up to the car, and wiggle the ribbon cable to see if you can find which wires are loose. Good luck.
