Had similar problem Posted by nick [Email] (#227) [Profile/Gallery] (more from nick) on Thu, 14 Dec 2000 00:10:53 In Reply to: Automatic Transmission Woes on '95S. Help, Darrel, Wed, 13 Dec 2000 21:10:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my fathers Isuzu Trooper. When shifted into drive it would start from highest gear, not a good feeling. Alot of slipping going on. Turns out it was the transmission switch. It went south about 2 months after the warranty expired. The dealer was sympathetic but said only cure was to replace it. Almost $600 CAD for that stupid thing. They took it apart, cleaned it up and put it back. This fixed it for a while but it did come back. In the end he traded the truck in for another (at another dealer, hehe) luckily they didnt notice the problem. His next trooper never had that problem. I dont know if SAABs have this switch but check it out. Apparently it lets the tranny know what gear to start in, or something like that.
