Are you positive that this is new behavior? Power steering pumps do not like being asked to work when the rack is at one end or the other of its travel. Does the noise and vibration go away if you unwind the wheel just a little bit from all the way over?
Also, the sensation of feeling like the wheels are jumping in tight turns may mean that you're either due for a front-end alignment, or that the front end is wearing and some components need to be replaced. See, when you turn, the inner and outer wheels turn in at different angles, this difference is called the Ackermann (angle?). As bushings and such wear, the Ackermann will change, and tight turns aren't as smooth. A good front end shop should be able to help you out.
