I guess that you can hold out hope that things will dry out and fix them selves. The wires don't care about these things, but the connectors might.
This serves as a wake up call for many of us. Please post your model, year, miles etc.
The heater hoses are a known weakspot as the vehicles age. I can see a leak, but a sudden failure without warning is scarey.
Perhaps one tire was contaminated with antifreeze and oil from the shop floor, and there was some wheel slip.
