Sensonic system was offered with european Saab 900 turbo. System is basicly automatic clutch with few twists. It became available as other makers were developing their systems. As other systems work on pushing or pulling the stick to change gears, Saab has a "normal" gear fork.
The tip of gear changer is touch sensitive (that's why name sensonic). In that way sensonic system begins to interact with trionic system. So it chooses one style out of 24, to make the change "perfect". The sensonic system is hydralicly controlled. It has few components that are visible inside the bonnet.
Sensonic system notifies if you have made wrong change. It simply dosen't put the gear on. Car will shut down if you have gear on and you're not pressing brakes or accelerating. That will hapen in seven seconds (SID warns before it shuts down the engine). If your speed drops and you haven't changed gear, the computer tells you to do that. Or it may tell you to shift up. Ofcourse the driving computer makes some noise at the same time.
I hope this clarifies something
