By Saabs own brochures, the fronts do over 70% of the braking. How does the 30% of the system wear out faster than the part doing 70% of the effort ?
Secondly on the BB you would have hundreds of comiserators for support. Yet, I believe most owners who post, cry that their fornts only lasted 30K miles.
Third, and having 3 NG/9-3 "experiences" to personally draw from, your case is not the norm, not to say you are wrong, or lying or other labels...
I would advise you that your mechanic is wrong here.
That fronts could last over rears signifies a stuck caliper or pad/pads in the front system, a master cylinder issue, or somebody prior to your buying this ride switched the pads to Repco or a harder than the OE pad to explain this difference.
