Drive it, your rear end will confirm the hp. Extended warranties are a gamble, but the one I got on my '95 SET has paid for about 75% of itself. Close enough in my book. There are lots and lots of little expensive parts in a Saab. Often they work, sometimes they don't.
Relatively easy to work on, picking up the Saab manuals will help a lot.
Which transmission does it have? The seals on the manuals can go bad, fix involves r&r the tranny, 6hours labor for $100 in parts.
turbo and engine seem pretty bullet-proof.
