Just happened to me too Friday, same year, just 17 days in my possession, $2k damage, and in my case I may be held largely maybe even fully responsible (easier for the other guy to deny speeding, while I cannot deny crossing "empty" oncoming lanes).
No more words left, this blows bad. But it could be worse, like personal injury, guy was going like a rocket in an ancient Pontiac, nothing to lose.
