The 185 HP engines produced 11-12 psiof boost. Others may be able to quote an exact figure. TG is quoting the mechanical base boost setting, which is not quite what you feel at full throttle!
The Turbo does not care about the increased boost. The combustion chamber might.
The high output ECU mod from Abbott puts out 1.3 bar, almost 19 psi. And that is reliable. But with elevated boost pressures, it is important to reduce exhaust and intake restrictions. Those will elevate temperatures, rob power and increase the risks of engine knock. Engine knock with a turbo boost pressures can cause sudden destruction. But it is very rare to hear any reports of knocking with the NG900's.
The main benefits are more that they appear. As well as getting more boost, the turbo will spool up much faster, so you are not waiting for the power to begin. And the boost in the 1st two gears is nolonger castrated.
There are many more issues and for some, controversies. But there is a start.
