Why would anyone buy a Saab???? (long)

I've been a less than proud owner of a NG 900 since it was new.
I recently had my Saab in for servicing when my check engine light came on. Come to find out, I need $3570 worth of repairs. I need a new head gasket, thermostat, front Y pipe, rear muffler, ECM and new brake pads and rotors. I have 73,000 miles on the car and have contacted Saab costomer assistance to see what they would do for me considering I bought the car new. After 2 weeks of phone calls, they were only willing to replace the ECM because it is giving a fault code that was not in the manuals. Saab customer assistance informed that since I didn't have a Saab dealership do all the maintenance to the vehicle, they were not willing to help me out in any other way. I've looked into the trading-in the vehicle because it's not worth fixing. The trade-in value for my extrememly clean vehicle that I've maintained myself is a whopping $9500. Pretty good considering I paid $28,400 for it new. So the question is... Why would anyone ever want to buy a Saab????
