I have a 1996 Saab 900SE Convertible Automatic that I bought when it was
> 4 years old with only 25,000 kilometres on the odometer. I live in
> Toronto, Canada. Ever since I bought the car I've had performance
> inconsistency problems. I recently decided that the turbo was the
> culprit and when it was tested it was only putting out 7.5psi max.
> boost. The basic boost setting was fine and there are no > diagnostic trouble codes according to the dealership. I
> replaced the fuel filter and had the dealership look at it and they tell
> me there's no problem with it. The say that the maximum boost the
> automatic is pupposed to produce is .66 bar(9.7 psi). Meanwhile, the manual and
> automatic have the same horsepower rating, albeit the auto puts out
> considerably less torque. My car was running well last summer and when I
> did timed runs to 60mph I got about 8 seconds. Now I'm getting
> over 10 and a half secs consistently. The dealership tells me it's
> because of the cold weather. Two and a half seconds difference because
> of the weather. BULLSHIT!!!! If I can't fix this problem I'm getting rid
> of this car. Please HELP!!!!!
