Wash the wires, cap and rotor in hot water and with detergent, rinse, shake dry and bake in the oven at 200F for 30 minutes. Remove and let cool, while still warm, spray on and rub in Armourall classic, and bake again and let cool. The wipe off most of the dressing, and you are all set. The wires should last almost forever, as long as they do not get stiff and crack. The distributor cap is the same. It should be fine if not cracked.
Clean and dress the coil in place with windex and apply dressing and then wipe it down.
This really does work very well. It takes a while. You would not want to pay shop rates to clean things this way. It is a good thing to know. Sometimes cables can gete bad in the winter, and you can't get the parts. You can clean them up and be as good as new.
Wipe clean the external insulators on the spark plugs as well, or replace them if it is time.
