I was concerned about movement with bolt slack in the brace bar holes. I did not tinker with that as it was all that I could do to get it bolted up. Once the bolts were in place at each end, there was no play. I opened up the hole in the inner fender with a tapered reamer and tapped it so the bolt would be close to zero slack. That probably helped with it fitting up tight before any bolts were tight.
Part of the fun was threading the ~2" bolt through the fender tapped hole into the brace bore, while forcing the brace bar into position to accept the bolt. It workd well, but I am sure that no one has ever done this before. If someone else were to take this off, perhaps to service the steering rack, they would really wonder what was going on trying to get bolt out after removing the nylock nut from the inside.
I expect that the fender, itself not being rigid, will probably defect before any bolts start shifing in their bores. It was enough to get things in place. So I did not even use any of the loctite. I will check the bolts for tightness after a while and if things are ok, then I will let them be.
Another case of good intent and having reality stuck on your face.
