i feel kinda schizo talking with myself here on the board.. hehe. anyways...
so it seems that peek boost is around 2500-3500 maybe up to 4000. Silly me I was testing in the 4k-6k band last night. This evening i was able to hit the boost cut off in 2-4 by hitting WOT at around 2500-300rpm- and this was with the controller dialed back some.
Is it also possible that the ECU needed some time to straighten out the mapping? It seems like i'm getting more boost with a lower boost setting. (It was about 45-48 degrees again tonight.)Boost gague was slowly fluctuating between 33 and 50% red tonight with WOT at 3000rpm, no boost cut off.
what do you recommend for gear/engine speed for fine-tuning? I seem to be using 3rd and 4th between 2500 and 4000. As speed goes above 4500 i seem to be losing boost, is this normal?
One thing for sure, this was the 2nd easiest (K&N-easiest), cheapest, and most satisfying mod yet!!! she really moves. I was so caught up in getting max boost last night, i forgot to enjoy how nice the car drives now! I'm glad i decided to go for it (with help from Dean and this BB) and i have to say that the $35 pricetag definatly made the decision easier.
thanks
chris
