Saab dealers don't like their used products

Just an interesting tid bit,
Was thinking about selling one vehicle to make room for a new motorcycle. Unfortunately, the decision was to sell the Saab. In the course of looking around for a quick sell of my relatively new Saab ('97 900SE, only 29k miles), I called a few Saab dealers in southern Cal. Every one said that they would not buy a used Saab "because they are not in the market at this time".
Strange, I think a Saab dealer would be in the market for its own used vehicle, partiuclarly when I was discussing prices that would be comprable, maybe a little above, a trade-in value, i.e., a bit below Kelly BB trade in. You would think a dealer would be interested since they could sell the vehicle for a couple grand more. Even if they did not want to sell it through the dealership, they would obviously know what auctions to go to for the highest price.
What's up Saab? Apparently you are only interested in the "new" customers, and maintaining your income for repairs. I guess the only used cars you deal with are ones on trade-in, i.e., used cars that come in with a new car going out the door with an additional profit. I guess sellers of your used vehicles must rely on services like Saabnet since dealers won't touch one of their used products. Well, I must say that Saab will continue to receive my service and repair money for a bit longer, but if dealerships won't touch my car, that raises a flag of concern, and obviously the depreciation is more substantial than we (i.e., consumers) know. Maybe I should considern the BMW 330 next time.
Surprised and Denied...
