Unfortunately I don't recall precisely what was wrong nor the nature of the fix, which was early in the car's life ('94 or '95). (I just looked through my SAAB paper folder but for reasons unknown, the paper trail is lost.) If I remember correctly, the tcs light "permanently" illuminated - and would not turn off upon toggling the tcs button, nor upon engine restart. The dealer had to get a new part, putting us in a loaner for a full week!

More recently, starting last summer, I would get the intermittant tcs off light, which sounds like your symptom. Mainly it happened on hot days in stop and go traffic, and often the check engine light would also illuminate. My trusty and skilled independent guy speculates its the O2 sensor, but lacks the diagnostic tool to read the codes. Assuming it happens again this summer, I'll go to someone who can read the codes. Sorry I don't have more specific info at this time.
