If you look at the back of a 1994 or 1995 900, you will see that the panel in between the taillights above the license plate is painted the color of the body with the Saab Scania emblem in the middle. As of 1996, that panel became reflective to match the red/white taillight designs... almost like a "bridge" that matches the colors of the lights (for all trim levels... S, SE, turbo, etc.). For the 9-3, the license plate was moved to that spot where the panel used to be and the Saab emblem was moved to where the center brake light was on the 900s (however, the emblem and center brake light are basically smooshed into same space on 9-3 convertibles). Also, I believe that the steering wheel of the 1994 900s is a 4-spoke more boxier thang, but as of 1995 it became 3-spoke sleek wheel. But I'm not sure about that one.
