You could always fit an aftermarket single DIN CD player and purchase a new piece of dash trip that fits just above the radio to fill the hole. (its a moulded insert which is just right for putting a mobile or pack of cigaretts into)

I did this on my NG900 and Theo is right its black, but looks really good.

Dont worry too much about the new radio not being compatible with the SID. All you loose is the station / CD track readout on SID, but this is shown on the radio, so you do not actually miss out at all.

I upgraded my entire sound system using a Sony head unit, 10 CD changer in the trunk, new speakers throughout and a power amplifier from Alpine mounted just behind the rear seat. See the post from Richard Bevan regarding this.

The sound is simply exceptional.
