jrobert5,

I feel ya man! I own a 95 900s convertible. I recently discovered that my vehicle (same as yours unless you have the premium sound package, which I suspect you don't) does not have speakers in the front door panels....even though there is a speaker cover for them.

Your stereo puts out 20-30 watts to all the speakers. If you had the premium package, you would have an external amp that pushed the door speakers. Their wattage is 30-40. The speakers are mid/lows and the amp is actually mounted in the center console on the passenger side. (Inside the panel where your passenger's left leg is).

I am in the process of purchasing the door speakers and amp from a guy with a wrecked SE (came standard in the SE). I think that you could also mount an amp in the trunk near the CD Changer location or on the other side of the vehicle, rather than behind the seats.

I personally like the sound of my stereo and hope that the woofers and amp will provide that little extra punch I've been craving.

Oh, yeah...I am paying $150 for the speakers and amp. I also had to purchase a wiring kit from saabcatalog for $88. Not too bad. Overpriced Saabcatalog would charge you 550 PLUS the 88. I think you could find better for cheaper in the aftermarket, but I wanted to stick with OEM parts.

Lastly, if you want more power overall, and decide to purchase an amp to give more power to ALL of your speakers....you will need to purchase new speakers or you will blow your factory ones.

R
