Hoping someone out there can help answer a question regarding compatability of seat belts...Basically, recently purchased a 48K '94 900S 5dr, which has so far been a fantastic car, but one of the jobs I need to do is change over the drivers seatbelt, which is frayed. Over here, that makes it the front right belt, and I thought I'd lucked in when I managed to track down a 2nd hand belt at the right price (new one around $370), but on inspection it looks different.

Checked part numbers with the dealer and found that the replacement belt is for a '95-'97 900S 5dr (SAAB 4531489), while the existing belt is number as only a '94 5 dr belt (SAAB 4234894). The exisiting original belt has a large "electrolux" canister at the door pillar mounting point which "detonates" to lock the belt in case of accident and a small red lever which moves through 90 degrees depending on whether it is being serviced or in use, whereas the replacement has a much smaller canister and what looks like a small electrical socket which suggests that detonation may be electically triggered rather than by momentum on impact, and no red lever.

I suspect the answer is no, but does anyone know whether the two are interchangeable, or do I need to send it back and request the correct part number?
