I don't have personal experience with this, but do have a brother that's used a Frantz (by-pass)oil filter on every car he's owned for the past 30 years. (I think Amsoil markets the same one.) He's never changed the oil in any of his vehicles. EVER. All he does is change the toilet paper element every 3k or so. Right now he's driving a Nissan Sentra with 325k ( !! ) on it. Get this--- it burns NO oil. I helped him replace a head gasket about 5 years ago, and when I looked at the cylinder walls-- there appeared to be no wear on them. You could still see the faintest trace of the cross hatches from the cylinder bores. And there was no ridge at the top of the cylinder either. This dude even still has a partial case of '70's vintage Montgomery Wards Riverside 30 wt on his basement shelf. I'd buy one myself, but because of the cast aluminum oil pan on Saabs, I don't think you can punch an oil return line into it. Maybe one of you Amsoil guys can enlighten me as to whether you can install one on a Saab.
