Make sure that the angle is set properly. This is what screwed my CD changer up. On the CD changer body itself, there are TWO (well, there are two on my model... look for them) slots where you insert a screwdriver-type object (pen, key, screwdriver, etc.) and choose between Horizontal, 45 degree angle, and Vertical. Setting the little slider adjusts the way the CD player plays CDs, for optimum performance. Obviously, you set the pin for which way the CD changer is installed (H-45-V). Be sure to set them both correctly (if your has two)... you can have problems if they're both set incorrectly or if they're set differently from each other. You'll find them both easily. I had the same exact problem, and it was because the CD changer was set to Horizontal but it's installed vertically. That can cause major skips. Now it works great. Hope it works for you!
