The problem is due to arcing across the contacts in the switch. If you pull the switch unit out then you can dissmantle the unit with a small screw driver by carefully prying the clips apart.
When you pull the switch apart, bits are going to fly everywhere! Be warned and make sure you know where the switch contacts come from.
Clean the black contacts with some emery cloth. When you put everything back together, make sure you have everything back in the same place. If not, you will blow the 30amp fuse. Two contacts have raised bumps on both sides of the flat copper plate. These contacts are for the front driver and passenger side switches. They go under the leaf springs in the switch housing.
It is easier than it sounds.
A used switch with a 90day warranty is going to cost you around $100.
