If you plan on driving flat out over 130 mph, the 2.3 really doesn't go much faster anyway. Then the V would be better. But if you only use the car as a daily driver ( no autobahns here in the States), then H are fine.
Higher speed rating really means more grip. If you were on a track you would get the fastest times (more speed) from race tires, z-rated, v-rated,h-rated ( in that order). This is do to the higher speed rating tires usually having stiffer sidewall construction and softer rubber, thus more grip.
Another note, since the turbo models can go over 140 mph (I suppose some people might in Europe) they needed a V-rated tire and speedo of 150 mph. For Saab, it is cheaper to buy all v rated tires than some v and some h rated, as well as the same instrument panel. Also, I was told that in Europe they will not sell tires rated for slower speed than what the speedometer shows. Anyone care to confirm, Coolknight???
