It is actually very easy to replace the bulb. I think the owners manual has some intructions. But nevertheless, the first thing is to find out what side the bad bulb is on.
Is the right or left side? Then just open the hatch and look in the hatch are at that side.
You will see a square cut-out of carpet, kind of like a flap or door.
Use key or a small screw driver to pull open the carpet flap.
Behind that is a plastic panel. A flashlight might help to see the release catch, I believe it is on the top. Just release the plastic catch and remove he plastic panel.
The brake lamp is a #1156 bulb (I believe but check the owners manual for sure) and is labeled in the holder as "brake". Push down and twist to remove the bulb, then install the new bulb.
Replace the plastic bulb panel and the carpet flap.
All done.
