Not to burst your bubble, or start a war with V6 owners, but the 2.0 turbo is a better designed, built, and lasting engine than the V6. FYI: the V6 wasn't desgned by Saab, but GM, and is belt driven which needs replacing every 36k miles or so. The 4cyl. is chain driven and can go for 150k miles plus - my 1980 900T has 215k miles on original chain, never been rebuilt and runs strong.
Sound doesn't always equal better performance. The 9-3SE has more horses and torque then your V6. There's a reason why Saab dropped the V6 in the 900's/9-3's and it has to do with what I mentioned earlier. The V6 in the 9-5 is a different engine, though not yet proven as is the 4cyl turbo.
So, if you like the new 9-3, don't be afraid of the engine... it's a good one!
Nick
