!!! Help !!! Expert advice on 1995 900setc !!! Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Tue, 10 Jul 2001 20:29:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I am sooooo afraid to go to the dealer....
It started a month ago. When closing the roof, the mechanism would stop and go in its path for the first part and then it would close normally. It would happened about one out of three times.
But, when opening the roof...everything was fine.
A few weeks later, it started doing it more often when closing.
Now, also when closing.... after the roof is in the bag about 85% it stops and the tonneau cover tries to close and AT THE END OF THE WHOLE MOVEMENT (about 3 inches before the tonneau cover closes) I HEAR (and I'm afraid to say it...) a ratcheting sound!!!
Please tell me it's not the tonneau motor (or the 5th bow)!!!
I have removed both microswitches from the bag and it still does it.
I am hopping that it's some other switch since half of the problem is when closing the top.
Today I tried it again and when closing the top, the roof mechanism stops very very frequently in its track up to about half way.
Could removing both microswitches cause the roof to malfunction even more???
Any suggestions???
I am willing to try everything.
On another note: I was getting some minor leaks from the rear window after a heavy raining day and I took a look and found small little holes around the rear window spaced equally....what are those for ?
Thanks,
Saabu
