New Saab Owner Question

I have recently purchased a 1996 Saab 900 2.0l turbo and have noticed the following:
Under hard-acceleration when shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, if I shift anywhere after 4000 rpm, it feels like the shifter is comming out of gear right before changing gears and when I press the clutch it pops out of gear. It feels as if the shifter comes closer to the neutral position as the RPM increases under hard acceleration.
Is that a normal for a Saab 900 ? If not, what could it be wrong ?
Thanks,
Adi
