I have had two NG900s with the clarion 6-CD changer in the trunk (sorry don't know the model numbers). The first one was a left-hand drive 95 900S I owned in Hong Kong. The changer was mounted on the trunk floor at the left (HK passenger's side) rear. It virtually never skipped all the years I drove it there. Now I have a US model 96 900SE with what appears to be the same changer, but it is enclosed in what looks like a grey metal box the size of a toaster. This one skips quite frequently (every day or two) on LA freeway bumps or manhole covers. I can live with it, but the additional enclosure on the US model makes me wonder if it adds more rigidity to the mounting and therefore transmit wheel shocks more sensitive to bumps on the LR wheel. Or the tighter SE suspension? Or....?
