Alarm LED -- Ever Heard of "Transport Mode"? ('97 900s)

Previously I posted a question re: Alarm LED won't ever go off. Dean answered to try disconnecting the battery. Well, yesterday went to the dealer to get a second alarm remote and the dealer was stumped (unless I paid for the diagnostic charge and they spend 5 minutes for an hour's fee....), but thought he had read something about a "Transport alarm mode" for shipping the car. As I just bought it and it was shipped between dealers before I bought it, this might make sense. Anyone heard of this? Something funky is going on with the locks too. The only way to turn the alarm off is with the remote, and if you unlock it with the key, (after locking it with the key)the lock closes again....I'm flumoxed. I did finally get my new owners manual, (thanx about the breaking glass sensor--you guys were right...), but there is nothing there about this.
