Koni install / strut housing disassembly questions

I know several of this board's contributors have done the Koni struts themselves, so I am looking for a little info. I've read all the archived posts, but I still have a few questions I would like some definitive answers for, if anyone can help.
(1) The Koni instruction illustration adding some liquid to the strut housing before screwing in the new damper. What type of liquid is this and what capacity is used? Alldata doesn't mention anything about this.
(2) There appears to be some cutting and drilling that may be necessary. Did you find this was necessary in your experience?
(3) Finally, are there any Saab-specific tools that I need to dismantle the housing? My mechanic friend and I are doing this tomorrow evening and he looked over the instructions I have and that was one point of concern.
Thanks for any answers to these questions you may have.
Andy
