Frankly, cars (even your noted Japanese vehicles) are expenses, not investments, so yes, I assume that it will cost me something to own and operate. I do love my 900, though at six years and 68,000 miles it is certainly not in it's prime and, admittedly, I like the 9-5 styling details. I also have been eyeballing an SUV (yes, I know, gasp, dismay, blah blah). Fungible items will always be replaced, and it all becomes a matter of when and at what cost. So, to the extent that your posting questions my motives, get off of your high horse. I utilized the Black book as well as the aforementioned guides, and I think I mentioned that they were references, not bibles. As you know, Dealers use the Black Book in conjunction with advance sheets from auctions. So I don't think that I've under-analyzed the potential error rate. My base questions still resonates, which is whether there is some systemic problem with re-selling a car which consumers either love or hate....
