Update on Broken Timing Belt

I was the one who dished out four grand to repair a broken timing belt on my '95 V6. I bought my car in Des Moines with 58,000 miles. To update you, I moved to California from Iowa in February. Two weeks before leaving town I had the car in for repairs. At the time the car had 93,000. The mechanic mentioned that I needed to get the car in for service but he couldn't perform it at that time because the car had not hit the magic "94,000 mile window" (meaning they couldn't perform the obligatory 95K "major maintenance"). Problem is, I had to leave town before that happened. After the timing belt broke, I found out that at no time since I had my car in for service (on MANY occasions) had there ever been a timing belt change since 35,000 miles. Not once. Which brings me to this "94,000 mile window" issue. If they'd looked at their records, they would have realized that a new belt was needed LONG before 93,000. The work should have been done then and there. I'm waiting on a reply from Saab in Des Moines as I write this much too lengthy post.
