Help - Vibration under acceleration (long)

I recently bought a preowned 97 900S (NOT TURBO) AUTOMATIC. Only 30,000 miles, but 4 years old. I recently took it in to dealer with Hunter to have wheels balanced after noticing vibration starting at 65. They balanced and said everything was OK, but vibration is still there.
Not used to diagnosing car problems, I have now noticed that the problem is there only under ACCELERATION, from 65 on up. As soon as I take my foot off the gas, it goes away, and the harder I press on the gas the worse it is --when cruise control is set, it stops vibrating when on flat, but begins whenever it has to accelerate up hills.
As soon as it starts, the wheel seems to suddenly get "loose", with lots of play, and then vibrates in my hands. I can feel it through the seat too, even on the passenger side, but less. This is really annoying on the highway. Anyone know what this could be? And also, why the heck the dealer gave it back to me and said it was OK? (I know absolutely nothing about cars, but you think they would have noticed that the acceleration was causing a problem)
I also have a vibration at idle, which gets worse when going in reverse, especially when turning, like to parallel park -- the dash rattles and shakes. Related??? (already tried that Techron Concentrate).
Thanks for any help!!!!!!
