No problem.
Contact your dealer and go through the food chain to get the contacts in GM Canada *. Eventually you will get a contact at GM which will take your credit card number for a fee to issue a statement of compliance. This should be very simple, or may not be needed anymore for your production year. But it might be good to have the certifcate anyways as you might not have a US border officer who knows about any such exceptions. Then you need to drive across the border and visit US customs and pay some more $$ and fill out some forms. You cannot sell the vehicle for a year or so.
If you are moving to the US and are bringing the vehicle across the border as personal propery, it is very easy. If you are a US resident and importing, you will be exposed to duties and taxes.
It you are moving to the US, you will have to show your import papers to the state of residence to get your registration. There will not be any taxes other than what the other residents pay. You may need to go to get an inspection certificate prior to registration. If you are a State Farm insurance customer, they will move your policy and you carry any existing discounts with you.
Let me know if you need any help with immigration issues. 9136242150
* or look up the GM Canada Zone office in the phone book and go from there.
