There is no gasket there. Any oil in that location is free to leak out, as there should not be any oil there anyways.

Get under the car and get some of the drip on your finger. If it smells like engine oil then the engine rear seal is going. Very typical for the 94, 95, 096 production. If it smells skunky or sulphery then it is trany lube and the main shaft tray seal is gone.

If the drip also smells like fuel, it is the engine oil, smell the dip stick. This is normal.

The trany has to come out either way, so you do want to do the clutch kit and a new cable if still the original. Note that the 4 trany seals should also be replaced and put in Saab synthetic trany lube at the same time.

If is is a minor leak, live with it. If you need or want new shocks, the work for replacing the struts can be combined with the trany work as some of the work is common, but not greatly. I had the VRK installed with my rear seal replacement.

The new engine rear seal is a new partnumber... improved eh!
