POP! -- no boost

Things were running very well with ideal weather, upper 70's and while on the way to Harbour Frieght to get spring compressors I was getting 15PSI sustained on the boost guage. On the way back sfter leaving the toll booth I gon onto boost and POP!. The loss of torque had the seat of pants sensation of breaking a drive line. And no boost possible.
Got home and up the hood. Qick glance, no problem. The coupler for the cut in my transistion casting popped off. I cut the casting in two around a year ago so that I could to further 'porting'. I eggshelled it. So I put it back together after degreasing and applying 'Goop' adhesive. And I remember in "Maximun Boost' (the book), they said that this could happen.
So the string compressors are $10 per set, so I got two to allow both struts to be removed and worked on. Also got the $12 toe in guage, star sockets for the head bolts, set of three tie rod end removers for around $10, and a putnam puller. Prices are great for tools that will have infrequent use or turn out to be unsuitable for an immediate project. Found a thin 3/4" open ended wrench at a pawn shop. These do not seem to be marketed any more. Other various socket from a liguidation and surplus center. So it was a good day of scavenger hunnting. Now all I need is soem new nuts from the dealer and I can install the front Koni's.
