preventative maintenance? My 900S has 122K on the clock and shifted fine until a local shop replaced the rear engine seal and clutch. Of course the idiots also drained my synthetic and replaced it with 10w30. They've put the synth. back in but the shifter now exhibits all the symptoms of mis-alignment and/or bad bushing. I checked the alignment using the Haynes method and it seemed fine but there was a lot of slop at the shifter holes.
So, is the shift bushing guaranteed to break at some point -- leaving me in a disabled vehicle or should I mess around with the adjustment and try for a few more miles. I'd rather spend the $$$ on new shocks and springs, but shocks and springs won't leave me walking somewhere far from home!
TIA
