It really was a pain to do but once it was done you will be happy its over. I followed the directions that Eric Heyse gave me and those of Jeff S. posted last month for me. The job took me 45min to due with the help of a friend.
Things that a must for this job are narrow long fingers and lots of patients. I dreaded doing this job due to not really knowing what I was really doing. Now that I have done it I realize that it is really a straight forward job that I think almost everyone could due.
The first thing I did was removed the battery and battery base from the car. This allowed for me to have more room when putting on the clutch cabe to the clutch assembly. Not really necessary but I decided to do it anyway. Next I removed the fuse box inside the engine. Again this allowed for more room to see were the cluch cable inserted into the car and also allowed me to remove the bracket holding the cable inplace without to much effort. Next remove the plastic molding under the steering wheel. This allows for you to reach up and disconnect the spring and cable from the clutch pedel. This is the hardest part about the whole thing and requires long skinny finger so if you have short fat ones it is going to be especially difficult for you.
Removing the plastic molding under the steering wheel you will also notice some of GM's famous one time use plastic brackets so it might I good suggestion to already have gone to the dealer and picked a couple up. Eric told me that the clutch cable is self adjusting so once it is put back in place there is really nothing more to do.
