These belts are nothing to mess with because if it snaps, the entire engine could be wrecked and from personal experience, finding a replacement for the 1995 V-6 is nearly impossible.
I am still waiting to find out what the final deal is going to be from the dealership and SaabUSA. While I am wanting to remain an enthusiastic saabophile, this experience is making it really tough. I am looking at having to either come up with several thousands of dollars to repair what was a perfectly functional and well maintained car or have a $500 car payment for the next 5 years just to get any value from the car I have invested so much into over the years.
If I wanted a car that only lasted 90K, I could have bought a bunch of old Yugos for the same amount my Saab cost. Maybe the fact that the disability insurance is screwing with me still is making me extra cranky but there it is. Grrrrrr.
